Nippon Steel Corporation (NSC) has recently determined that it will be most effective if Nippon Steel Coated Sheet Corporation (NISC) and Nippon Steel Nisshin A&C Co. ltd (NSNAC) operate in an integrated manner in all business fields, including sales and technology. According to the company’s press-release, NSC made a decision to merge the two companies in July 2020, considering the changes in the steel sheet market. In particular, the domestic demand for exterior building material steel sheets (mainly coated and painted sheets and coils for roofing and walling) is expected to decrease in a medium- to long-term, while construction efficiency is expected to improve.
